Trading Derivatives

Students are introduced to the pricing and risk management of options. While maintaining a practical focus by teaching how professionals trade and risk-manage options, this course will also present enough mathematical rigor that it will serve as a prerequisite for the more advanced options courses, to be offered by IISAM in the future.

Classical Information Theory 1, 2 & 3

This is a foundational thread that leads in to several more advanced topics at IISAM. In part 1, we'll present a general introduction of classical information theory and its applications across disciplines. We will then cover the mathematical foundations of information theory in the discrete case. Part 2 will cover differential entropy and other aspects of information theory in the continuous case. Finally, part 3 will cover advanced topics and cutting edge interdisciplinary applications.

Quantum Mechanics for Scientists and Engineers

This is an introduction to Quantum Mechanics with a focus on modern applications. The core mathematical principles are examined and the concepts are explored within the context of applications such as nanotechnology, quantum optics, semiconductor devices, quantum computing, and more.

Quantum Information and Quantum Computing 1, 2 & 3

This course introduces Quantum Information and Quantum Computing. It is an exciting cutting edge topic that we will thoroughly explore at IISAM. Part 1 will provide a general overview of quantum information and computation, its history, and future directions. Next, a short introduction to computer science and computational complexity will be presented, followed by a short review of the foundations of quantum mechanics. Part 2 will cover quantum computation and physical realization schemes. In Part 3, we'll cover quantum information theory, its comparison and contrast to classical information theory, and its potential applications.
